Description

Regarding sustainable buildings, today, the development among the European Member States is not equal. This project aims to contribute towards the improvement of the relative European issues; to fill the existing gaps between partners and finally, to create a bridge on sustainability between the academic and vocational training. Upon completion, the five countries will have a common multilingual platform dedicated to sustainable construction and open to the arrival of new partners and the inclusion of new languages. The project is based on two types of transfer: 

– A multilingual e-learning platform with an educational tool for content creation (1), course creation and management of learners. 
– The best studies of both universities and research project partners and supplemented by the contributions of all partners. 

1. «Content creation», is a modern term denoting the creation and modification of digital content, such as animation, audio, graphics, images and video, as part of the production process before presentation in its final medium. 

The expected outcome is twofold: 
– Integration of high-level content in the body of the multilingual e-learning platform 
– Establishment of a European network of users and open to non European. 
The expected impact concerns the implementation after a long two-way bridge between academic and vocational training. At the same time, continuing education will be reduced over a snapshot of a few days, but becomes a daily working tool by which the learner becomes an actor in training and developing new relationships with trainers. 
Initially oriented towards the training of architects, the project will be extended to take account of other public and local authorities, developers, planners and other professionals.

    FORMAR Project – Vocational Training on Sustainable Buildings Maintenance and Refurbishement

    The FORMAR project will develop training resources and modules to improve the skills on sustainability issues of workers of buildings maintenance and refurbishment.
    The main outcome of the FORMAR project is a set of Units of Short-term Training (UST) to be integrated in the vocational training of carpenters, painters, bricklayers, building technicians and installers of solar panels, and a transversal unit concerning basic concepts on sustainable construction and nearly Zero Energy Buildings (nZEB).
    A second goal is to improve the information provided for clients, through the development of a guide to support the procurement decisions related to building products and materials.
    The use of the methodological framework of the national catalogue of qualifications of each participating country, and the principles of the European Credit System for Vocational Education and Training (ECVET) in the development of the UST will allow its subsequent integration in these systems. Nowadays, the training references that are part of the national catalogues of qualifications do not integrate Units of Short-term Training (UST) concerning sustainability issues. Although the construction industry has adopted several new technical improvements enabling companies to build more sustainable buildings, the training offer is still limited and the European cooperation is relatively weak. The main goal of the project is to develop training resources and modules to improve the skills on sustainability issues of workers of buildings maintenance and refurbishment.
    The FORMAR project will contribute to the development of national and sectorial qualifications by:
    – Making the connection between the area of sustainability, the construction sector and pedagogical concerns related to the need of appropriate qualified professionals;
    – Providing an opportunity for the development of the training itineraries more consistent, allowing the adaptation of existing skills to the present job market, increasing the employability and the labour mobility.

    CertCraft ISO & ECVET – Future Certification of Crafts(wo)men for Lowest Energy Buildings

    To implement the 20-20-20 targets of the EU’s climate change and energy increased efforts of the memberstates are necessary. Especially in the field of thermal renovation of existing buildings, there is much to be done.

    Within the project CertCraft ISO & ECVET following should be achieved:

    – Ondevelopment of the Passive House Craftsmen PHCC course for new buildings
    – Adaptation to the actual state of the national and European frameworks
    – Development of a training module for thermal renovation of existing buildings

    There are the following target groups addressed:
    Craftsmen, especially masons, carpenters, heating and electrical contractors. In addition, trainers should be trained to run the courses.
    For the training participants a personal certification according to ISO 17024 is provided; the courses meet the new European standard for Vocational Training(ECVET).

    E-training platform towards energy efficiency of buildings
    The training content, didactic and supporting materials are useful for the trainers, trainees and SMEs technicians in construction and in particular within energy efficiency retrofitting of buildings. The idea of this project, is the huge number of block of flats in Bulgaria stock, and the lack of training tool in the Construction sector area, especially for Trainers in professional secondary schools, VET centers, and site managers. Transfer of innovation is planned from Germany to the other partner countries, new EU members – Bulgaria and Romania. Project aim is through the effective partnership to elaborate a Guide for Energy efficiency renovation for building techniques, web based, innovative tool. Direct Beneficiaries: teachers, trainers, site-managers, workers from sector. Indirect are the clients of construction companies, receiving a renovated building product of high quality, energy savings up to 40 %. Partnership includes all key actors of Construction sector: employer’s association, training bodies, research bodies, companies.
    Project aim is development and adapting of Guide for energy efficiency renovation of buildings, based on the key expertise of Germany in the renovation of prefabricated structures, especially in Berlin and other major cities. German partners have mutual expertise in renovation works or rehabilitation of existing, respectively old buildings. In addition to this is the expertise in the vocational training activities. Vocational training institute of the Construction industry in Northrine-Westphalia with more than 30-years experience in methodology and development of the innovative training tool, based on the previous e-learning projects. Current project proposal is follow-up, and valorisation of former carried our international projects – Training of trainers with partnership with FVB – Fund for vocational training of Construction industry, located in Belgium, in 2006 – on masonry, shuttering work, and steel framework, early 2007 – on renovation work, also training of trainers, as well as on site management, and Health & Safety issues. Further to the Basicon II Projects findings, European building essentials, and applying the developed innovative Certification center for competences, skills and knowledge of Construction workers-helpers. Current project is going to implement the methodology for development of orientation and training module, developed by the Construction Chamber of Bulgaria on Build Up pilot project, where is applicable.

    European Training Programme on Energy Efficient Renovation of Old Buildings

    The main objective of this Project is to transfer to other European countries the "Training Programme on Energy Efficient Renovation of Old Buildings" course designed and developed by Bydgoska Szkola Wyzsza (Leader of the Project) thanks to cooperation between two faculties (Construction Engineering and Production Engineering and Management) as well as Vocational Education Centre, Edukator. The idea was to fransfer of the course programme to other countries after adaptation to b-learning system. The main target groups are technicians and engineers of construction companies and vocational training institutions. The course fills the gap in professional knowledge and skills necessary for energy efficient renovation of old and historic buildings (planning and management of appropriate processes, chosing materials and renewable energy systems like micro-generation of energy from renewable sources)with maintaining historical value of renovating buildings. The building sector therefore offers the largest potential for energy savings, which in turn will reduce our negative impact on the environment. The savings potential is estimated at around 28%. In accordance with the Directive 2010/31/EU on the energy performance of buildings overall energy consumption should be reduced by 20% below 1990 level by 2020. The Action Plan identified the significant potential for cost-effective energy saving in the buildings sector. We are sure that increasing rate and depth of renovation of the building stock is the most cost effective and fastest way to cut energy consumption and has a great potential for creating of new jobs and promote economic recovery of the construction sector. EU needs to deep renovate about 3% of its building each year for the next years to meet energy and economic goals by 2050. All available energy saving technologies should be incorporated what can achieved a reduction in energy consumption of between 60% to 90% for the majority of buildings.
